This Barbara from the California Foothills is an excellent example of the grape coming from a hot and mostly dry environment.
It’s a very food-friendly wine and shows up in adventuring taverns as the house wine. Good before or after your adventure, share a bottle with your party and toast to companions gone but not forgotten.

Livermore Valley was California’s first commercial wine region, and one of their white wines won the Grand Prix at the International Paris Exposition in 1889 (long before Napa and the Judgement of Paris in 1976).
This Chardonnay is the afternoon drink of choice for Hobbits for Luncheon or Afternoon Tea, but also Dinner or Supper when fish is on the menu.
