MEET OUR GAME MASTERS

Onna (she/her)

Onna has been playing tabletop roleplaying games for over a decade. Her games focus on teamwork, roleplay, improvisation, and storytelling.

Sarah (she/her)

Sarah picked up D&D after listening to a few TTRPG podcasts and realizing there was nothing better than pretending to be a wizard and fighting dragons with friends. She has been DMing since 2017 and has a low-pressure, rules-light, and fun first approach to the game. She aims to create a space where everyone at the table feels included in their own unique style and gets to experience the joy of telling a story as a group. Outside of D&D, Sarah is a consultant, moved to Sacramento three years ago, and loves all things literature and theatre.

Will (he/him)

Originally hailing from Seattle, Washington, Will has been playing tabletop RPGs for more than 10 years and has been a dungeon master for nearly seven. A fan of all things DnD—especially goblins— there’s nothing he enjoys more than exciting, tactical combat and doing funny voices. Will’s tables are all about engaging with rules and systems on a deep level, as well as using the roleplay aspects of games to enhance and be creative with the overall experience. Games will be catered to new players and veterans alike, with something for everyone to enjoy. In addition to DnD, Will loves playing Pathfinder and Call of Cthulhu. When not delving dungeons, Will enjoys working in his vegetable garden, reading with his three cats, and playing competitive fighting games (see me in Guilty Gear).

Chase (he/him)

Hi, I’m Chase! I am a Sacramento native born and raised, and a massive nerd. I’m a band kid at heart and an engineer by trade, but I basically learned to read by reading the 1st edition D&D manual and Magic: the Gathering cards! I’ve been DMing casually since elementary school, and professionally since 2018, for age ranges from 6 years old to retirement center parties. I’ve run a ton of different systems including DND 1, 3.5, 4, and 5, Shadowrun, Pathfinder, Gamma World, and Lancer to name a few, and most of my games involve a high fantasy setting with great acts of magic and fantastical technology. Anyone can learn to play a tabletop game as long as they have an imagination. I just want to tell a great story while we imagine together!

Alex (he/him)

I have been a player of tabletop RPGs for 15 years, ranging from D&D, Delta Green, Cyberpunk Red, and Pathfinder. Only this year have I been stepping into the shoes of GM for Cyberpunk Red, an update to the cult classic 1980s TTRPG. I focus on character driven stories, as well as fast paced, brutal combat.

Miranda (she)

Miranda has been DMing for the past three years, though she has always been obsessed with story-telling and all things fantastical. Miranda believes in a fun-first approach to DMing, and likes to balance role-playing and combat to best fit the table’s needs. She loves sessions with whimsy, cool loot, and plenty of odd creatures. When she is not running adventures, she loves video games, Russian literature, sandwiches, and spending time with her Bengal cat, Sibyl. She also enjoys admiring her hoard of dice.

Kurt (he/him)

Kurt (he/him) has been DM’ing for 4 years, both in-person and online. He loves running games inspired by the stories of the players (and their characters) who come to the table. To him, a great session is one where a player is so immersed in the choices presented to their character that they lose themselves in the roleplay and story action. Kurt has past experience in special education and public speaking training—it’s one of the big reasons why he likes to run Learn-to-Play sessions at the cafe, because it lets him use his teaching experience to bring new people into the wonderful hobby of TTRPGs. He encourages everyone to try D&D, no matter their personality type, because everyone can bring something unique and engaging to the table.

In addition to running D&D sessions, he also runs Monster of the Week and can be found as a player in the cafe’s recurring One Ring campaign. Outside of TTRPGS, Kurt paints minis, is involved in improv at the Sacramento Comedy Spot, takes long walks around Midtown with his partner, and listens to Charli XCX.

Carmichael (he/him)

I’m a passionate and award-winning Game Master who loves crafting immersive worlds, painting minis, and creating cinematic experiences that keep players on the edge of their seats—all while sipping on an oat latte and hanging out with my two black cats. With a focus on speed, danger, and creativity, I try to make the most of the time that is given to us.

At my table, player agency is paramount. I encourage thinking outside the box and embracing the unexpected, ensuring your choices have a meaningful impact on both the adventure and the characters. If you’re up for a thrilling exploration of the inhospitable cosmos, I’ll grab my oxygen suit and meet you in ALIEN RPG or MOTHERSHIP RPG. Or, if casting spells and swinging swords in a fantasy realm is more your style, we’ll dive into the award-winning SHADOWDARK RPG.

I specialize in games that are welcoming to both beginners and seasoned players, offering a balance between imagination and structure. Whether you thrive on the freedom of rules-light improv or enjoy the depth of mechanics, there’s a place for you at my table—as long as everyone respects and supports each other first and foremost. Together, we’ll craft stories that linger long after the dice have been rolled.”
